It Adventure Ropes Course

It Adventure Ropes Course claims to be the world’s largest indoor ropes course. I’m not sure if that’s true but I can confirm it’s one of the cleanest and coolest indoor ropes courses I’ve ever seen. Located inside a giant furniture store in New Haven, CT, It marries its ropes course activities with a Vegas-esque light show. The whole space is dark and moody with backlights that rotate from pinks and blues to citrusy yellows and oranges. It’s fun and exciting and, though I didn’t climb, I have to imagine all these lights and the clubby music make the courses more thrilling to experience.

If your crew has smaller children in it, there is also a Little It course about two feet off the ground that’s perfect for toddlers and whimpy 7 year olds. And should you want to make a day of it, there is a pizza place and ice cream shop inside the ropes course area.

This was a perfectly fun activity for a cold and rainy day. On our visit, the facilities were extremely clean but we did find the place a bit understaffed. Reservations can and should be made in advance for either 1 or 2 hour visits.

Pro tip: skip the food inside It and get some real New Haven apizza at Pepe’s, Sally’s or Modern after your climb.
