Rye Playland
Rye Playland has been amusing the residents of Westchester County and its surrounding areas since 1928. This amusement park is more than just rides and games - it’s a National Historic Landmark! Playland’s Dragon Coaster is one of just about 100 wooden roller coasters still in operation in the United States and its “Derby Racer” attraction is just one of 3 still left in operation. The park features about 30 thrill rides, plus a large designated area called “Kiddyland” offering calmer rides for its smaller guests. Check the Playland website for concerts and performances happening around the park during the season. And bring sunscreen as there is not much shade on a warm day.
An unlimited ride wristband costs $30 ($25 for a Westchester resident). Kiddyland wristbands are $20 ($15 for Westchester residents) and non-Westchester residents who merely want to watch are $10 for a “spectator” wristband. Parking costs $10 per car on weekdays and $15 on weekends. The park is open weekends only until Memorial Day.
